Individuals would walk into their local hospital, announce that they have an opiate addiction, and would be treated right there on the spot. It’s for this reason that he has expressed no desire to patent his method. He would like everyone who is in need of this life-saving treatment to have access to it, whether it is with him and his team or not.
Even though that vision seems a way off, Dr. Waismann persists in his activism and has taken his plight worldwide. From the early 1990s until today, ANR has reached patients from more than 90 countries, and their lives have been changed by his work.

Dr. Andre Waismann is the physician who developed Accelerated Neuro-Regulation (ANR), a medical treatment for opioid dependency. He completed his medical training in Brazil in 1981 and built his career in surgery, trauma and critical care in Israel. He has spent 32 years researching and refining ANR, and more than 25,000 patients have been treated with it.
Accelerated Neuro-Regulation is a medical procedure performed in a hospital under sedation. It treats opioid dependency as a disease of the central nervous system. The goal is to bring the endorphin system back into balance, so the patient is free of withdrawals and cravings.

The hospitalization is about 36 hours. Patients are admitted in the morning, the procedure takes place the same day, and most patients are discharged the next day. Follow-ups continue after discharge, and the ANR team stays with each patient for a year through the optimization plan.
